CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Quagsire waits at the bottom of a river with its mouth open for prey to enter without needing pursuit. Its inactive life means it rarely grows very hungry. While swimming, it may bump into boat hulls, rocks or the riverbed, then continue seemingly untroubled. The Pokédex paints a slimy, carefree animal that feeds with the same nonchalance it brings to crossing obstacles.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby explains that Quagsire lets food enter its open mouth and eats little because it moves little. Pokémon Sword notes that a collision with a hull does not stop it. Slowness and indifference mark hunting and swimming alike.
