CARDEX BACKGROUND
Gumshoos tracks prey for a long time without giving up, but its vigilance ends when it grows sleepy in the evening. It particularly likes Rattata and Raticate, which mainly emerge at night, so their schedules rarely overlap. The Pokédex says it was introduced to Alola long ago to limit their spread. This story explains its presence on the islands while showing the limits of its hunting against nocturnal prey.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Ultra Sun notes that Gumshoos was not native to Alola and was introduced to control Rattata. Pokémon Moon observes that its favorite prey is nocturnal while it sleeps in the evening. This difference in schedules complicates the task for which it was supposedly brought.
