CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Rock Guard places six damage counters on the attacking Pokémon when its holder is your Active Pokémon and takes damage from an opposing attack. The effect works even if that damage Knocks Out the holder. The Tool prepares retaliation against the attacker without preventing the incoming attack or freely distributing counters across the opposing field.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

The holder's Active position is essential to the trigger. The six counters are not damage added to its next attack: they are placed on the attacker in response to damage received in this situation.
