CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Larvitar begins life far from the light, deep underground. To reach the surface and find its parents, it must eat the earth blocking its path. Its first journey is also a prolonged meal. Nutrients drawn from this underground world accompany its growth until a far wider horizon finally becomes accessible.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Emerging from the earth is not immediately comfortable for Larvitar. Pokémon Ultra Sun explains that it struggles with the bright light discovered at the surface. Its arrival alongside its parents therefore involves adapting to an entirely new, luminous environment.
