CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

When Shinx senses danger, its fur can light up and dazzle an opponent, giving it time to escape. Electricity comes from contractions of its muscles, so physical agitation can signal a substantial charge. Its small size tells only part of the encounter: the subtlest movements may be preparing a sudden burst of light.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Shinx’s light is also used to communicate. Pokémon Shield describes signals sent to its own kind by moving the glowing tip of its tail. Electricity therefore contributes to exchanges within the group, beyond its use in escaping danger.
