CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Dratini long belonged to stories people believed without being able to verify them. The Pokédex relates that its capture by a fisherman confirmed its existence. Near fast-flowing water and the foot of waterfalls, it grows by shedding its skin several times. The legendary Pokémon then becomes a living being, occupied with the ordinary transformations of growing up.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

The little bump on Dratini’s forehead is more than a simple contour of its head. Pokémon Shield explains that it is a horn still forming. This discreet detail reveals ongoing development within its smooth silhouette.
