CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Hypnotoxic Laser Poisons your opponent's Active Pokémon, then flips a coin. On heads, that same Pokémon also becomes Asleep. This Item therefore applies Poison without relying on the flip, while Sleep is an additional random effect. Both conditions affect the opponent's Active Pokémon; the second cannot be directed at a different Benched Pokémon.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

Tails does not cancel the Poison already specified. The flip determines only the additional Sleep, distinguishing this Laser from an effect in which every Special Condition would depend on getting heads.
