CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Cubchoo keeps a nasal drop that contributes to its ice abilities. It sniffs before attacking and uses the cold contained in this secretion. Its consistency also indicates its condition: when healthy, it becomes thicker and its attacks grow stronger; when ill, it loses some of this effectiveness. The Pokédex thus describes a surprising sign of health directly linked to its fighting method.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Black notes that Cubchoo's nasal drop thaws when it is ill and its Ice-type abilities weaken. Pokémon Y instead connects thickness with better health. An unglamorous detail therefore serves as a real indicator of power.
