CARDEX BACKGROUND
The story behind this Trainer card
Unidentified Fossil occupies an unusual position: this card is played as a Colorless Basic Pokémon with sixty HP. Once in play, it cannot retreat. The player nevertheless has another way out, since it can be discarded during their turn before attacking. The fossil can therefore enter the field as a Pokémon while retaining particular movement and removal rules.
Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.A detail worth noticing
The retreat prohibition does not force Unidentified Fossil to remain until Knocked Out. Its text permits voluntary discard during your turn before attacking. This removal is an option distinct from ordinary retreat.
