CARDEX BACKGROUND
Chesnaught puts its own body in danger's path to protect its allies. Its charge can overturn a very heavy tank, but its strength also shows in stillness. When it raises its fists in front of its face, the Pokédex credits it with resistance to an explosion. These two actions express the same disposition: advance to remove a threat or hold position so others remain sheltered. Its armor and power serve defense as much as striking.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon X compares Chesnaught's charge with a force capable of overturning a fifty-ton tank. Pokémon Y gives the other side of its power: with fists before its face, it could withstand a bomb explosion.
