CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Umbreon moves through a world with little light without losing sight of what it seeks. Its large eyes pick out prey even in darkness, while the rings on its body may glow as it pounces. Its dark silhouette does not simply disappear: it chooses its moments of visibility in the midst of its nocturnal activity.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Glowing rings are not Umbreon's only defence. Pokémon Gold states that, when agitated, it can spray poisonous sweat from its pores. This described trait of the species does not mean that every card has a poisoning effect.
