CARDEX BACKGROUND
Rotom's plasma body can slip into an electrical appliance and take control of it. The entries associate these intrusions with its pranks, while researchers consider using it as the power source for an unusual motor. It moves from one machine to another without ceasing to be itself. The appliance changes its behaviour; Rotom retains its electrical nature and its taste for mischief.
This background from the video games describes Rotom in its appliances; the abilities specific to this form remain those of the card.Research into Rotom has gone beyond simply observing its pranks. Pokémon Sword explains that a young man's invention inspired the development of several machines that use its abilities. This Pokédex entry does not name the inventor, but it clearly connects a human idea with new uses for the Pokémon.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
