CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Swinub moves with its snout against the ground to identify smells and dig up food. It particularly seeks a mushroom hidden beneath withered grass. Its sense of smell sometimes leads it to discover hot springs. As soon as a scent attracts it, it rushes toward its source without hesitation. The Pokédex shows a small digger whose routes follow buried scent trails rather than a visible path.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby says Swinub sometimes finds hot springs while looking for a mushroom beneath grass. Pokémon Shield describes it rushing forward as soon as a smell interests it. Its nose can therefore lead to an unexpected discovery as well as a meal.
