CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Tarountula surrounds its body with a ball of remarkably elastic thread. This protection can deflect the scythes of Scyther, its natural enemy. It also produces thread as strong as cable from the rear of its body. The Pokédex notes that the source of this strength is still being researched. Its flexible shelter and the toughness of its thread show two uses for the same material: cushioning an attack and building a defense.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Tarountula's threads protect it. Pokémon Scarlet credits them with enough elasticity to deflect Scyther's scythes. Pokémon Violet compares them to metal cable and says the secret of their strength has not yet been solved.
