CARDEX BACKGROUND
Slugma constantly travels through volcanic regions to stay close to heat. Magma circulates through its body, filling the role blood plays in other species by supplying what its organs need. If it stops moving or cools down, this material solidifies and its body becomes brittle. Fragments may then break off. Its incessant movement is therefore more than restlessness: it responds to a vital constraint imposed by its own composition.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Alpha Sapphire explains that Slugma’s veins contain magma rather than blood. Pokémon Omega Ruby states that cooling can cause pieces to fall off. The heat of its habitat therefore directly preserves the integrity of its body.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
