CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Glaceon controls its body temperature to turn moisture in the air into ice crystals. When hunting or defending itself, it can freeze its own fur into sharp points. An icy breath spreads fine snow around it, a phenomenon that even attracts attention at ski resorts. Its delicate appearance therefore conceals a formidable command of cold. The Pokédex describes a Pokémon capable of creating both a snowy landscape and a bristling defence.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

The beauty of Glaceon's crystals can deceive its prey: Pokémon Sword tells of victims admiring them before realising they are freezing. Pokémon Ultra Sun states that its body temperature can fall to minus sixty degrees Celsius as it turns its fur into protection.
