CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cleffa often appears in stories connected to meteorites and shooting stars. Beliefs say it came from space or remembers it when looking at the sky. On meteor-shower nights, several Cleffa sometimes dance together in a circle. The Pokédex reports that this spectacle supposedly brings good luck without confirming the species' celestial origin. Its nighttime behavior has thus inspired legends that observers continue to tell.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun describes Cleffa dancing in a circle during meteor showers. Pokémon Sword places their appearances near meteorite falls, according to accounts. Tradition connects these two observations with a cosmic origin that remains a belief.
