CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Eelektrik eats a great deal and uses electricity to subdue prey before feeding. Its round spots release shocks when it coils around its target. This contact lets it paralyze the prey while holding it in place. The Pokédex describes hunting at close quarters: it does more than send electricity from a distance, also using its flexible body to prevent escape.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black locates Eelektrik's electrical discharge in its round spots and describes its body wrapped around prey. Pokémon White emphasizes its large appetite. Its electric markings are therefore directly connected to the method it uses to feed.
