CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Watchog keeps Berries in its cheeks and can fire their seeds at an enemy. When it detects a threat, it raises its tail and makes the patterns on its fur glow to intimidate. Its eyes also distinguish what happens in darkness. The Pokédex thus connects food reserves, vigilance and defense: what it carries to eat can become a projectile, while its body gives a luminous warning.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black describes Berry seeds kept in Watchog's cheeks and spat out in battle. Pokémon White credits it with effective vision in the dark. Its watch therefore continues when light is scarce, with a response already in reserve.
