CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Maushold brings together two large Pokémon and two small ones that seem to have appeared one day without explanation. The Pokédex does not know whether they truly form a related family. In battle, the two large members first protect the little ones. If the opponent is particularly strong, however, all four join the fight. Their behavior resembles that of a close-knit household, but the origin of the two younger members remains a mystery the entries do not claim to solve.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet says Maushold's two small members appeared one day, with their relationship to the two larger ones unknown. Pokémon Violet shows very real coordination: the older members protect them, then the whole group fights if necessary.
