CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cascoon weaves a silk cocoon around its body that hardens and protects it during its transformation. Even when attacked, it stays motionless: moving could weaken the body preparing to evolve. The Pokédex credits it with a persistent memory of the pain suffered in this state. In Hisui, people also notice its silk's texture and luster, making prized clothing from it. This waiting period therefore leaves traces well beyond its evolution.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire explains why Cascoon endures an attack without moving and states that it never forgets the pain. Pokémon Legends: Arceus adds that its silk, although fine, is strong enough to make high-quality clothing.
