CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Beautifly travels gardens looking for sweet flower pollen. Its long, coiled proboscis reaches nectar, and it sometimes rides spring winds while feeding. Its colorful wings give it a peaceful appearance, but the Pokédex also describes aggression: when disturbed, it extends its proboscis to attack. A flower left at a window may attract it, provided this unexpected defense is respected.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby says a flowerpot at a window can attract Beautifly with pollen. Pokémon Black warns that it may attack when disturbed. Seeking nectar explains its visit, but bright colors reveal nothing about its mood.
