CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Kartana is an Ultra Beast whose body looks as thin as a sheet of paper. This thinness does not make it fragile prey: its edges cut like a blade. One observation credits it with cutting an immense steel tower in a single movement. Yet the Pokédex suggests that it does not spontaneously attack opponents; its own shape can already injure them. Like other beings from an Ultra Wormhole, it is dangerous here while perhaps ordinary in its home world.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon reports that a Kartana cut a gigantic steel tower with a single motion. Pokémon Sun qualifies its aggressive reputation: it appears not to attack on its own initiative, but its sharp body alone is enough to pose a danger.
