CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Whirlipede often remains motionless under its shell's protection. If an enemy approaches, it starts spinning and charges like a spiked wheel. Its speed can approach a hundred kilometers per hour. While awaiting evolution, its sturdy casing and poisonous points defend it. The Pokédex tells of a Pokémon whose apparent calm can become a sudden charge that is hard to avoid.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword credits Whirlipede with a speed of around a hundred kilometers per hour when rolling. Pokémon Shield explains that it accumulates energy for evolution while remaining protected. Its shell therefore serves both survival during the wait and a brutal attack.
