CARDEX BACKGROUND
Wooper divides its life between cold water and brief outings to seek food. It comes onto land when the air cools without abandoning its mainly aquatic existence. Changing environments requires suitable protection. Its simple silhouette hides a precise rhythm: wait for favorable conditions, go out to eat, then return to the environment where it usually spends its time.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. The slimy film covering Wooper on land is more than toxic. Pokémon Platinum notes that it also prevents its skin from drying out. One secretion therefore combines protection against the terrestrial environment with a defensive quality.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
