The story behind this Trainer card

Kieran offers two interventions and asks you to choose only one. The first switches your Active Pokémon with a Benched member. The second increases damage dealt this turn to opposing Active Pokémon ex or V by thirty. The player thus chooses between changing position and strengthening attacks against certain targets. The bonus applies before Weakness and Resistance but does not affect every opposing Pokémon indiscriminately.

A detail worth noticing

Kieran's two options do not combine when it is used. The damage bonus specifically targets the opponent's Active Pokémon if it is ex or V. Simply being Active is therefore not enough.
