CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Fraxure can no longer count on tusks regrowing after breaking. After battle, it carefully sharpens them against stream stones as though maintaining the tool its strength depends on. Its tusks can cut rock, and territorial disputes with its kind are violent. This stage of evolution contrasts a powerful weapon with the need to preserve it.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Fraxure's skin is as hard as armor. The Pokémon Shield Pokédex describes its preferred way of fighting: charging an opponent while piercing it with its tusks. Defense and attack therefore advance together, even though tusks that no longer recover from breakage demand considerable care afterward.
