Giratina V

The Pokémon’s story

Giratina inhabits the Distortion World, a place the Pokédex describes as the opposite of the ordinary world and alien to common sense. Its violence is said to have led to its banishment there. From this other realm, it silently watches humans. The available stories do not say how it returns or what it thinks of those it observes. This distance feeds its legend: Giratina’s story concerns as much the world sheltering it as the banishment it is said to have suffered.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X emphasises the strangeness of the Distortion World, presented as the opposite of our own. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire relates that Giratina is said to watch humans from there after its banishment. These entries describe its home without explaining all of that world’s rules.
