CARDEX BACKGROUND
The story behind this Trainer card
Great Ball opens a brief window onto the top of the deck: the player looks at seven cards, may reveal a Pokémon among them and add it to their hand. The other cards examined are then shuffled into the deck. The search is therefore limited to this small set rather than the entire deck. It may bring the right partner at the right moment, but the effect does not guarantee a Pokémon will be among the seven cards viewed.
Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.A detail worth noticing
The word may in the effect leaves the choice of whether to take a Pokémon found among the seven cards. Only the chosen Pokémon is shown and added to the hand; the other cards examined return to the deck before shuffling.
