CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Bunnelby digs burrows with ears as broad as shovels. Through repeated use, they become capable of cutting large roots and opening a deep tunnel in one night. They also help it detect danger: when it hears a large bird approaching, it immediately takes shelter underground. The Pokédex shows a small Pokémon whose ears are both digging tools and an alarm system.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword credits Bunnelby with digging a ten-metre burrow in one night. Pokémon Shield states that it responds to Corviknight’s wingbeats by hiding. Its ears’ speed therefore helps both create a refuge and reach it before an attack.
