CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Dark Bell makes both Active Pokémon that are not Darkness type Confused. The effect checks each combatant separately and can also affect yours. A Darkness-type Active Pokémon does not meet the criterion, whereas an opponent of another type does. The text moves no Pokémon and does not seek a Benched replacement target for an excluded Active Pokémon.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

Dark Bell is not reserved for the opposing side. Each Active Pokémon becomes Confused if it is not Darkness type. This individual check means the effect can concern one combatant, both, or neither, depending on their types.
