The Pokémon’s story

Dartrix grooms its plumage with great care. Its feathers thus stay neat and sharp enough to become projectiles. It targets an opponent's weak points and can even strike a threat behind it. Yet its elegance has a demanding side: if feather care is neglected, it sometimes refuses to obey. The Pokédex makes this apparent vanity an essential preparation for the accuracy of its attacks.

Pokémon Ultra Sun says Dartrix may ignore its Trainer if its plumage is poorly maintained. Pokémon Shield directly connects this care with the sharpness of its cutting feathers. Its concern for cleanliness therefore also affects its arsenal's effectiveness.
