CARDEX BACKGROUND
Alolan Ninetales's calm long earned it worship as a deity incarnate before it was recognized as a regional form. This peaceful appearance hides a formidable defense. Its fur creates ice particles that it can launch at enemies; provoking its anger can therefore result in being frozen almost immediately. Ancient reverence and caution around its powers echo one another in its portrait.
Background on this form in the video games; this card’s attacks, edition and finish remain distinct. When Alolan Ninetales escorts someone to the foot of a mountain, its intention is not necessarily charitable. One entry explains that it mainly wants that person to leave as quickly as possible: the escort is also a way of clearing the area.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
