CARDEX BACKGROUND
Amoonguss waves the Poké Ball-shaped caps on its arms to attract prey. Yet the trick rarely works: few Pokémon let it approach. It moves little and may remain still beside a real Poké Ball found on the ground. When it scatters poisonous spores, they must be cleaned away quickly because they can grow into new mushrooms. The Pokédex tells of a patient trap, sometimes unconvincing but dangerous.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon White emphasizes that Amoonguss's markings rarely fool prey. Pokémon Sword warns that its spores can grow mushrooms if left in place. Its threat therefore does not depend solely on the success of its lure.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
