The Pokémon’s story

Darumaka draws energy from the flame burning inside its body. When the flame is strong, it becomes excited and runs around; when it weakens, Darumaka falls asleep and retracts its limbs. It sleeps so steadily that a push will not make it topple. This trait has earned it a place on good-luck charms. In the past, people even used the still-warm waste it left behind to keep warm. Its heat thus accompanies both its activity and the uses people have found for it.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon White says people once placed Darumaka's warm droppings under their clothes. Pokémon Shield notes that it became a good-luck motif because it stays upright even while asleep. Two very different details arise from its heat and posture.
