CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Noctowl hunts in darkness where many Pokémon would see nothing. Its unusual eyes gather faint light, and its flexible wings carry it silently toward prey. When thinking or worried, it turns its head almost upside down. The Pokédex warns that it is best not to disturb it in this state. Its nighttime effectiveness therefore comes from a combination of vision, silence and sustained attention.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Ultra Sun calls Noctowl the emperor of the night for its vision in darkness. Pokémon Shield associates its head turning 180 degrees with thought. This striking posture is presented as a sign of concentration rather than a hunting movement.
