CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Genesect belongs to a very ancient lineage of Bug-type Pokémon, which the Pokédex dates back three hundred million years. Team Plasma modified it and strengthened the cannon attached to its back. In the past, it was already feared as a predator; human alterations added a weapon to that reputation. Its story therefore brings together two very different eras: that of the ancient creature and that of an intervention that changed its body.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black presents Genesect as a feared predator three hundred million years ago. Pokémon White explains that Team Plasma improved its back-mounted cannon. This weapon is therefore not described as the reason for its ancient reputation.
