The Pokémon’s story

Mankey lives in trees in colonies where anger spreads quickly. An annoyance can make it tremble and breathe faster before it attacks anything that moves. Even its neighbours’ flight does not calm it: loneliness becomes a new source of anger. Yet the Pokédex relates that it accumulates little stress, because its outbursts pass as quickly as they arrive. This explosive temperament shapes the life of its entire group.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon goes so far as to relate that a Mankey may dream of its frustrations, wake up and become angry at having been disturbed. Pokémon Ultra Sun nevertheless credits it with a long life: its annoyances are said not to last long enough to build up into stress.
