CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Drakloak flies at nearly two hundred kilometers per hour, but the Pokédex also emphasizes its care for Dreepy. It fights alongside Dreepy and looks after it until it evolves. It often keeps one on its head. If this companion is missing, Drakloak becomes so anxious that it tries to replace it with another Pokémon. Its speed therefore does not erase its attachment: the entries connect its fighting behavior with a real protective relationship.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield says Drakloak, deprived of the Dreepy on its head, may try to substitute any Pokémon it encounters. Pokémon Sword measures its flight speed at around 200 km/h and describes it fighting alongside Dreepy.
