CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Flapple evolved after feeding on a sour apple. It keeps a visible connection to that fruit: its wings resemble peel, and it can take on the appearance of an apple again. Acidity also features in its attacks. It concentrates a liquid corrosive enough to cause burns in its cheeks, then can spray it. The Pokédex thus connects its dietary origin, flight and defense with the same property of the fruit that transformed it.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Flapple's wings are made of apple peel, according to Pokémon Shield. Pokémon Sword notes that the sour apple responsible for its evolution left a corrosive liquid in its cheeks. Its resemblance to the fruit therefore goes beyond its silhouette.
