ゲンガーex

The Pokémon’s story

On nights with a full moon, Gengar may borrow a passer-by's shadow and laugh at their fright. Other entries describe it as less playful: it slips into a victim's shadow to steal their life force, or emerges to attack travellers lost in the mountains. The same talent for disappearing therefore takes on different tones depending on the account: an unsettling prank or a genuine threat.

A detail worth noticing

The Ultra Sun Pokédex presents Gengar as a threat invoked to frighten misbehaving children. This reputation extends beyond its nocturnal encounters, making it a figure in scary stories too. The text reports a belief within the Pokémon world without turning it into an observed event.
