CARDEX BACKGROUND
In the clear waters of lakes and seas, Dragonair keeps the orbs on its tail charged with energy linked to the weather. The Pokédex reports offerings piling up near the lakes it inhabits, so strongly is it believed to control the weather. When the wind rises, it may ascend into the sky. Its aura and this relationship with the elements explain its place in ancient beliefs.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Seeing Dragonair in the sky at the start of the year is said to signal good health for the months ahead, according to Ultra Moon. This omen gives its appearances a meaning distinct from its power over the weather. The Pokédex reports a belief: it does not promise that an encounter actually guarantees health.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
