CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Weavile hunts in small groups in cold regions. It carves signs into trees and stones with its claws to coordinate its companions. This organisation allows it to attack prey much larger than itself. In Alola, it even shares its catch with other group members. The Pokédex describes a predator whose cunning depends on more than speed or claws: it also relies on elaborate communication and collective hunting.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Shield estimates that Weavile can carve nearly five hundred different signs to communicate. Pokémon Sword shows it hunting in groups for Pokémon as imposing as Mamoswine. These marks in the landscape therefore enable coordination that goes beyond a simple call.
