CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Chimecho clings to a branch or eave with the suction cup on its head. Wind moves it while its cries resonate in its hollow body. These sounds can become melodious or, when it is angry, produce ultrasound capable of repelling an enemy. It also uses its long tail to catch Berries. The Pokédex describes a suspended life guided by wind and sound.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X gives Chimecho's language seven cries. Pokémon Omega Ruby explains that its hollow body amplifies these sounds enough to produce ultrasound when angry. The same organ therefore serves both communication and defense.
