CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Corphish was brought to new regions as a pet, then established itself in the wild. It feeds on almost anything and tolerates even dirty rivers or sewage. Its powerful claws let it seize varied prey. The Pokédex sees its population growing where former Trainers released it. Its history shows how a hardy Pokémon can turn human abandonment into lasting expansion.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun connects Corphish's presence on certain beaches with abandonment by Trainers. Pokémon Ultra Moon lists it among the few Pokémon capable of living in sewage. Its adaptability explains why these releases had lasting effects.
