Shiftry lives high in large trees and remains difficult to observe deep in forests. Pokédex accounts present it as a guardian able to read its opponents’ intentions. Its broad leaves resemble fans, but their movements raise winds powerful enough to reshape the landscape. Despite this strength, some entries describe it living quietly in its territory, far from the visitors who fear it.

A detail worth noticing

Gusts produced by Shiftry’s fans can reach thirty metres per second, according to Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Pokémon Shield also reports that a simple movement of its leaves is said to cause the forest breeze: an explanation presented as a tradition.
