CARDEX BACKGROUND
Shaymin responds to affection and gratitude: the flowers on its body may open when it is gently stroked. The Pokédex also credits it with dissolving toxins in the air, to the point of turning barren land into a field of flowers. These changes give visible form to what it receives and what it gives back. Around it, both a gesture of appreciation and a polluted environment can become the starting point for a bloom.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Black links the opening of Shaymin's flowers to the gratitude it senses. Pokémon X credits it with purifying the air and turning a desert into a field of flowers. The Pokédex therefore ties its plant-related power to the environment as well as to emotions.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
