CARDEX BACKGROUND
Magmortar builds up heat inside its body comparable to that of a magma chamber. After a deep breath, its flames intensify and it can fire balls of flame from its arm. This power has been used to melt metals in factories. Yet it avoids using its strongest attack when hunting because it would burn the prey to ash. The Pokédex describes impressive energy that the Pokémon must regulate according to its intended result.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Moon says Magmortar's arm can begin to melt if it fires too many fireballs. Pokémon Ultra Sun mentions factories using its flames to work metal. Its heat therefore has industrial value, but also a cost to its own body.
