CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Hawlucha compensates for its small size with agility and a good reading of battle. Its wings adjust its posture in flight, making its aerial attacks difficult to block. It jumps into an opponent’s blind spot, then may use joint holds. Often, it tires its rival before delivering a decisive blow. The Pokédex also credits it with a strong taste for spectacular poses: this habit can cost it the advantage it built so carefully.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield relates that Hawlucha strikes a pose just before its finishing blow. Some opponents use this brief pause to counterattack. Pokémon Ultra Sun describes the same failing: its desire to show off can cancel out the benefit of its speed.
