CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Mudkip does not need to look at everything happening around it. The fin on its head detects movements in water and air like a sensitive radar. It can thus understand its surroundings without relying only on its eyes. Beneath its small silhouette, this attention to vibrations accompanies strength that can surprise when a situation becomes difficult.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Underwater, Mudkip breathes through the gills on its cheeks. Alpha Sapphire also describes its strength against rocks larger than itself. Its small size therefore does not sum up its abilities: it has both an adaptation to aquatic life and surprising power.
